PV+BESS simulation
Simulates photovoltaic production, battery behaviour, grid injection, and curtailment.
I2DT Use Case · Renewable Energy Resource Management
An intelligent and interoperable Digital Twin system for renewable energy plants with integrated Battery Energy Storage Systems.
The Renewable Energy Management Digital Twin represents renewable energy plants with integrated Battery Energy Storage Systems and supports production forecasting, storage management, grid injection analysis, and market-oriented decision support. It is designed to help operators understand how renewable production, storage availability, weather conditions, grid constraints, and market signals influence energy commercialization decisions.
The tool combines plant data, weather information, battery status, grid constraints, and market signals to support the operation and commercialization of renewable energy resources. Through its connection with a weather Digital Twin, it obtains meteorological information required by the forecasting and simulation modules, enabling the estimation of renewable generation, available storage capacity, and energy injection or non-injection decisions.
Simulates photovoltaic production, battery behaviour, grid injection, and curtailment.
Uses meteorological information from a weather Digital Twin to support production forecasts.
Provides recommendations for energy injection, storage usage, and commercialization strategies.
Publishes telemetry and updates the renewable energy plant Digital Twin state.
This tool is developed in the context of the I2DT project and the Renewable Energy Resource Management use case.
